This painting of gumnuts is up close in order to show the incredible beauty and form of this strange part of our Australian flora. I think if you look at anything closely and intensely it reveals its essence and beauty to you and this is one of my great pleasures in being an artist. The smallest parts of nature have incredible craftsmanship and wonder in them. The canvas is 3.5cm thick and wraps around the back so it can be hung without a frame.
