This painting depicts a female red-tailed black cockatoo flying through a storm. It is painted in acrylic and is based on a photograph I took at the Healesville Sanctuary in Victoria. It is painted on an abstract background to represent the storm and it is designed to inspire feelings of strength, courage and resilience in the viewer. I painted it after a difficult period in my life to represent that indomitable spirit that survives the difficult things we encounter. It is 76cm x 76cm and is painted in acrylic paint on canvas and has a 3.5cm thick canvas wrapped around the back and so it can be hung without a frame.
