This painting of a Kookaburra is based on a photograph of this majestic bird that I took at Westerfolds Park in Melbourne. The Kookaburra was sitting on a branch framed by leaves with the sky behind it and it formed the most stunning frame of the bird. I have embellished the colours of the leaves and stylised them to add my own creative interpretation and I have also included the mandalas as this image to me shows a deep spirituality that transcends times and cultures. It is painted in Acrylic on Canvas and the canvas has a 3.5cm edge and so it can be hung unframed or you can frame it.
